VBT, along with intensive physiotherapy, is an alternative treatment option that some parents are attracted to. It is a less radical surgical procedure that has not yet been adopted by the NHS. The NHS does not currently believe there is sufficient evidence to support its routine commissioning. Further there is a limited number of cases where it is a potentially viable treatment option. However, there are patients in the UK who are travelling to the United States and Europe to undergo VBT surgery.
